Unless otherwise noted, shipping is free to Canada (with tracking) and the USA. There is a modest surcharge for other destinations.
West of Lunch ships to North America (Canada and the USA), Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
All shipping is done by Canada Post via one of their service options which is estimated to take 4 to 12 days and insured through U-Pic. This service combination provides insurance but does not provide a tracking number, unless within Canada or unless it is a bundled order.
These small paintings are shipped flat in a stiff cardboard photo envelope.
Duty & Customs Note
Any duty, taxes or brokerage fees are the buyer’s responsibility. Please note that I am unfamiliar with what these charges might be to your country. “Original art” or “fine art” sometimes has a duty-free or reduced duty status.
Lost
Because the shipping is done via the public mail system, this insured service requires patience for the recovery of any lost or damaged goods, so please make sure your receiving area is secure. Canada Post generally requires 45 calendar days to have elapsed from date of mailing before, along with U-Pic, it will open a file to begin the claim. I am unable to provide refunds until the insurance claim with U-Pic has been confirmed. The good news is – to-date this mail service has never failed.
Damaged
If you receive the package in damaged condition, before opening please take photos of all sides of the package, and, once opened, the painting itself. WoL will assist in procuring the insurance coverage. Some patience will be required as Canada Post and U-Pic insurance require a certain amount of time to process claims.
Thanks for your understanding of these policies — WoL is a one-person, artisanal studio and not a giant, multi-national.
Returns
Please be sure of your choice as returns are not generally accepted. In order to avoid any disappointment, additional photos of the painting (close ups, etc) can usually be provided and any questions or queries answered before purchase. Use the contact form to get in touch.
Copyright
Please note that these paintings are original works of art and are protected under Canadian and international (Berne Convention) copyright law. As the creator (artist) of the work I expressly retain the copyright, although ownership of the physical painting passes to the buyer. No copying or reproduction is permitted.
